I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers participated in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
